Working with Quicklinks Groups
By default, when you first start using Quicklinks, a default group will be created for you to store all of the Quicklinks. For instance, if you add Quicklinks to a Channel in Microsoft Teams, a new group called "Channel Quicklinks" will be created. However, you can also add additional groups as desired to make it easier to work with a larger number of Quicklinks.
Adding a Group
To add a new Quicklinks group, click on the "Create a new group" button that appears at the bottom of the Quicklinks list. Doing so will instantly create the new group. By default it will be called "[New Group]" but you can immediately rename it as desired, as shown in the screenshot below.
Changing the Group View Style
Quicklinks offers two different ways of showings Groups, as shown below:
List Mode | Card Mode |
---|---|
To switch between these view modes, click the icon at the end of the group's title area, as shown below.
Renaming a Group
To rename an existing group, click on the name of the group to select it and from there change the name as desired. This is shown in the screenshot below.
Removing a Group
To remove (delete) a group, click on the trash bin icon at the end of the group's title area. A confirmation popup will appear to ensure you don't delete groups accidentally, but if you are sure you want to delete it click the Yes, Delete
button. If you want to cancel the action, simply click the Don't Delete
button.
Ordering Quicklinks Groups
If you would like to re-order your Quicklink group, it can be dragged and dropped from where it is to where you would like it to be. An example is shown below.
To do this, you need to drag the group by selecting in the top 'title' area of the group. When you are using a desktop, this is indicated by the 'hand' icon when your mouse moves to this areas, as shown below.
As you drag the group over possible destinations, an outline placeholder will appear indicating what the new order will be. It is also possible to position the group at the end of the list by dragging it over the "Create a new group" button at the bottom of the Quicklinks page, as shown below.
It is not only possible to move Quicklinks themselves within the same Quicklinks group but also to move them from one group to another, using the "drag and drop" mechanism as explained in Ordering Quicklinks
